SOUTH TEXAS DIRECT AIR CAPTURE HUB
ABOUT THE SOUTH TEXAS DAC HUB
1PointFive has access to 106,000 acres of land in Kleberg County, Texas with the potential to securely hold up to 3 billion metric tonnes of CO₂. The acreage can support a Direct Air Capture (DAC) and sequestration hub that could capture and remove up to 30 million metric tonnes of CO₂ per year.
THE SOUTH TEXAS HUB: BY THE NUMBERS
up to 30,000,000
tonnes per year of CO₂ removal potential
6,500
up to 3
feet below the surface, the expected CO₂ storage capacity
monitoring wells for each injection (storage) well
FOR REFERENCE, 30 MILLION TONNES OF CO₂ REMOVAL IS EQUIVALENT TO THE GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSION FROM*:

Over 6.6 MILLION gasoline-powered passenger vehicles driven for one year

Over 3 BILLION gallons of gasoline consumed

Nearly 6 MILLION homes’ electricity use for one year

WHAT IS DIRECT AIR CAPTURE?
DAC is the process of removing CO₂ directly from the atmosphere. 1PointFive uses Carbon Engineering’s technology to pull CO₂ out of the air.
STORING CO₂ WITH GEOLOGIC SEQUESTRATION
1PointFive plans to store CO₂ thousands of feet underground in geologic formations through geologic sequestration. This proven method of CO₂ storage has been used for decades.
